What is Tencha?
Tencha is the raw material for matcha before it is ground into powder.
It is dried without the kneading process, with stems and leaf veins removed, leaving only the leaf portions shaped like flakes of dried seaweed.
Made using a Tencha kiln—a brick drying oven that locks in its aroma during production—Tencha has a unique roasted fragrance.
